Punctal Plugs

Punctal plugs are tiny devices inserted into the tear ducts to reduce tear drainage and alleviate dry eye symptoms. They function similarly to a plug in a sink, retaining moisture in the eye.

However, some patients may experience discomfort or find the plugs no longer necessary. In such cases, the plugs can be removed. The procedure involves using a small pair of forceps to gently grasp and extract the plug from the tear duct.
